Yin Yoga for Myofascial Release & Nervous System Regulation

Philosophy: How I View the Body and Exercise

I see the body as our unique life tool, worthy of care and respect. Moreover, yoga is not an end in itself nor a measure of comparison; instead, it serves as a means to connect with our energy, well-being, and inner balance.

Furthermore, every person is different — with distinct experiences, needs, and energy levels. Therefore, my practices are adapted to individual limits and personal pace. The goal is to feel connected to our body, reduce tension, enhance focus and calm, and gradually restore balance.

There is no “right” or “wrong” body — there is only your body, here and now. Consequently, the practice is a tool to listen to it, calm it, and care for it respectfully.

Yin Yoga for Anxiety, Burnout & Psychosomatic Fatigue

Yin Yoga is particularly suitable for periods when the body and nervous system are overloaded. In fact, during chronic stress, burnout, or psychosomatic symptoms, intense or excessive exercise can further challenge our balance.

By contrast, Yin Yoga provides a gentle and safe way to move, allowing the body to relax without strain and gradually return to a state of calm.

The practice can help:

  • Reduce nervous system overactivation

  • Improve sleep quality

  • Relieve stress-related physical tension

  • Promote grounding and stability

  • Reconnect with the body gradually, without exhaustion

Importantly, the class adjusts to your daily energy, not to an ideal “schedule.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need prior yoga experience?
No. The class is suitable for beginners. Additionally, the poses are simple, supported, and do not require flexibility or previous knowledge.

How long is each class?
The session lasts 40–45 minutes, providing enough time for unwinding without tiring the body or nervous system.

Is it normal to hold poses for 3–5 minutes?
Yes. In Yin Yoga, poses are held without muscular tension and with full support. However, the duration is adapted to each practitioner’s needs.

What if I feel discomfort or tension?
The practice is based on respecting boundaries. Thus, any pose can be modified or skipped. Gentle stretching is encouraged, but pain is not.

Is this class suitable for anxiety or burnout?
Yes. Yin Yoga supports nervous system regulation without overloading it. Nevertheless, it does not replace medical or psychotherapeutic care, but serves as a complementary wellness tool.

Is it the same as Yoga Nidra or meditation?
No. Yin Yoga is a physical practice, using passive poses and gentle movement. Although many experience deep relaxation, guided meditation or Nidra are not included.

Can I combine it with other forms of exercise?
Yes. Yin Yoga complements Pilates, walking, light strengthening, or other therapeutic practices, depending on the body’s current phase.

What do I need for class?
Comfortable clothing and — if available — a mat. Props such as cushions, blocks, or blankets are used for support.

What if I have low energy that day?
This is exactly why Yin Yoga exists. The class adjusts to your energy levels, not the other way around.
